How to Become a Lions Club Member

Becoming a member of the Lions Clubs International is mutually beneficial to both the member and the Club.
These benefits can only be realized when there is a total commitment and involvement by both parties.

Elko Lions Club
The Elko Lions Club was chartered in 1938 and has over 90 members. We are a member of Lions District 46, along with 47 other Lions Clubs in Nevada and the Lake Tahoe area of California.

What Do Lions Do?
Lions raise funds and give their time freely to help the less fortunate. You may already be familiar with some of their activities in your own community, but did you know that...

Since 1925, when Helen Keller challenged the Lions to take up the cause of the visually handicapped by becoming "Knights of the Blind in the Crusade Against Darkness", service to the blind has been one of Lionism’s most significant activities. Recently, this crusade has resulted in Lions Clubs throughout the world sponsoring Journey's for Sight in the communities. Participants walk, jog, run and bicycle to raise funds for countless sight-related projects.
