The White Cane Days program provides funds to nonprofit institutions serving the visually impaired to assist in:
- Purchase of special opthamological equipment for hospitals and clinics,
- Summer vacations and recreation for sightless children,
- Eye surveys and therapy programs in schools,
- Mobile vision screening units,
- Braille writers and books,
- Providing meeting places and assistance for sightless groups,
- Help finance surgeries and hospital care for those in need.
White Cane Days is truly a grass roots project, where individual Lions get out and meet the public one-on-one.
The White Cane Days project has risen well over $6,000,000 in Multiple District 4 from the sight projects of individual Lions Clubs.
